　　The boisterous, arrogant professor Challenger, a reputed biologist and anthropologist, dares the London Zoological Society to mount an expedition to verify his spectacular claim, without physical proof, that his previous expedition to the Amazonian basin found live dinosaurs. Apart from him and his 'socialite' counterpart, professor Summerlee, it consists of experienced discoverer Lord Roxbury, the young reporter Ed Malone -who got publicly struck down with Challenger's umbrella at his arrival- and Jennifer Holmes, Malone's news agency's boss's daughter, essentially as conditions for putting up the money. In Brazil they are joined by Jennifer's brother David and local 'guide' Manuel Gomez. They soon discover the dinosaurs are real and dangerous, like giant spiders, but loose their helicopter and thus are desperate for a way down from the isolated plateau. They learn Roxbury knew about the fate of Burton White, an explorer whose diary they find, thus presume to be dead, in search of diamonds, and confirmation of the local tribe being the lethal guardians of the plateau's secrets, but also get surprising help...

　　人类大战持续了将近50年，世界由此分化为大亚细亚连邦共和国和欧共体两大阵营。持久战结束后，大亚细亚连邦共和国终于取得了胜利，并统治了欧洲和亚洲部分大陆，但战利品并不可观，除了土地的荒废，人心的慌乱外，还残留了很多战争后遗症。比如一些在战场上使用过的杀伤性化学武器、细菌武器、核武器等等。
　　这一情形告诉我们拯救人类、拯救社会、拯救世界刻不容缓，人类处于即将崩溃的状态。怎样去面对这一切？怎样去寻找重生的道路？社会呼唤有志之士勇敢地战出来给这个被战争荒废了世界寻找一个公道。在这样危急的时刻，东博士提倡“完整地制造出人类所有器官的新造细胞”理论，这一理论在学术会上得到了认可。东博士的爱妻绿已久病卧床不起，为了把妻子从死神手中夺回来，东博士也必须完成这个研究。但社会保健部门从研究初期开始就企图独吞这一成果，为了顾全大局东博士在不断让步的情况下，着手开始这项研究。在东博士的呕心沥血的研究下，新造人类终于诞生。但原本是以拯救人类为目的制造的“新造细胞”到头来却于人类为敌，把人类赶进血的世界……

　　Eric Braeden stars as Dr. Charles Forbin, who has created a supercomputer named Colossus, built solely for the purpose of controlling the nuclear defenses of the Western alliance. It isn't too long after, however, that the Russians announce that they too have built a similar computer for those same purposes on their side--Guardian. And when the two machines begin sharing information at a speed nobody can believe, an attempt is made to disable them.
　　This unfortunately just raises the machines' ire; and in retaliation, they launch their weapons at each other's home nations. The result is a chilling scenario that is potentially becoming all too real these days.
　　COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT was not a big hit at the box office for various reasons. One is that its cast wasn't exactly well known. Another reason is that its ending isn't exactly a happy one. Still a third reason is that Universal had trouble trying to promote it in the wake of the huge success of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. The latter reason is obvious: Colossus and Guardian, like HAL in the Kubrick movie, become central characters here. The difference here is that while HAL malfunctions due to a programming conflict, Colossus and Guardian remain all too stable, convinced beyond a doubt that they know how to protect Mankind better than Man himself. As the computers point out: "One inevitable rule is that Mankind is his own worst enemy."
　　Joseph Sargent's direction is efficient, and the special effects work of Albert Whitlock still manages to work despite its obvious age. An overlooked gem in the sci-fi genre, this should be given a revival.

　　哈蒙德（理查德•阿滕伯勒 Richard Attenborough  饰）立志要建立一个非同寻常的公园：恐龙将是这个公园的主角。他把众多科学家收归旗下，利用琥珀里面困住的远古蚊子体内的血液，提取出恐龙的基因信息，利用这些信息培育繁殖恐龙。结果如愿以偿，他把怒布拉岛建立成了一个恐龙公园，坚信可以从中赚取大钱。然而，科学家们则忧心忡忡。
　　不幸的事情果然发生了。虽然公园有电脑系统管理，但却因为被员工破坏而造成了无法挽救的失控：所有的恐龙逃出了控制区，人们纷纷逃窜却逃不过恐龙的魔爪。恐龙自相残杀，人们亦死难无数，最后幸存者寥寥，只得四人逃出生天。怒布拉岛上空弥漫着恐怖的气息。
